Product Description:
Variegata di Bologna was bred by Massimiliano Lodi (1863–1930) (Italy, before 1909). It was introduced in Italy by Gaetano Bonfiglioli e figlio in 1909.
The "Variegata di Bologna" rose is often grown as a shrub rose, but it may be more suitable for training as a climber. The plant can easily reach a height of 300 cm and is primarily a once-blooming variety, making it difficult to see flowers in other seasons. The flowers are large, exceeding 10 cm in diameter, with a strong fragrance and a very full, globular shape before opening.
This rose is highly popular for its unusual coloration: white flowers streaked, splashed, and spotted with light purple, resembling mint candy. Like most Bourbon roses, it has a rich, intense fragrance. The plant features neat, narrow leaves and a dense, thorny growth habit.
